KARR: Unleashed Speaks on Final Prep to Happiness

Final Prep to Happiness: part of the Continuous Drips Anthology

Genre: Romance

This is part of a challenge in which each author of this anthology would give their honest assessment on the others contributions in the collection (and it would be a bit biased if I reviewed my own works on here). None of the authors have seen the others’ works prior to their compilation and live presentation.

The Unleashed One here with another episode of Kindle App Random Robin, This time, I’m here to share my thoughts on the shortest work in Continuous Drips, “Final Prep to Happiness”.

At first, I believed that the placement of this work was a bit of a mistake.
(1) It didn’t have the erotic flair that Synful Desire has become known for.
(2) It lacked a bit of plot depth which she tends to utilize in other stories.

As I read the micro, my way of thinking shifted and the connectivity of all the works became clear. The element of the surprise in the form of unsuspected twists was (and is) the key that made all the stories come together.

Once I figured it out, “Final Prep to Happiness” meshed perfectly.

This is not the story to go to with a lot of fluff. “Final Prep to Happiness” is straight to the point: a lady gets treated by her boyfriend to a pleasant surprise and the surprise brings happiness as well as a bit of trepidation. The hindrance is the very thing that marks the twist to the story and makes the jaw drop as the story comes to a close.

Unleashed Verdict: 8 out of 10 Stars

When it comes to a micro short with shock value, “Final Prep to Happiness” delivers with perfection. This author has a great handle on balance in a micro short and I wouldn’t mind her coming out with a collection of these just to see how they would do.
